Leaf spring question

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of restoring a 67 Charger that has a 440 in it and I need to replace the leaf springs because the 440 Is too heavy for it and it's pushing the rear axle forward into the wheel wells. Can anyone tell me if these springs are strong enough to hold the 440 or if you can point me in the direction of a complete kit with the leaf springs and all the hardware for installation together that would be greatly appreciated. https://autoplicity.com/83777-hotch...skJu0EusYP7vqSlJkGmMrJbF7SkCAoDhoCebsQAvD_BwE
 
Those will hold the 440 just fine but are designed more towards autocross. If you are not too concerned with carving corners you would be better off with HD springs for about half the price. Check eaton or espo springs. In building for carving corners and went with hyperco composite springs and they were still cheaper than the hotchkis kit.
 
I can't say that I've seen a engine do that to a rear axle before? Not trying to be smart but you are aware that the front axle does appear to sit closer to the front of the wheel well? In other words the tire doesn't look centered in the wheel well. Tires that are too big would magnify this characteristic as well.
 
Contact springs and things @ espo.com for your needs. I have used them several times and will do so again.
 
No I can't say I was aware of that. However the pre purchase inspection I had done said that's what it looked like was happening. Along with that it's not a stock 440 so I can't be entirely sure that the leaf springs that are on it are meant to hold that weight. Here's a picture if you could tell me what you think that would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you're parked on a hill and we can't actually tell how the car is sitting. I have a 71 Cuda with gen 2 hemi and I have a slight nose down stance so when I get on it transfers weight to rear. I have Super Stock springs in mine.
 
Maybe the front spring hangers are wrong, or the springs are wrong, or made incorrectly. Plymouth hangers are shorter. The weight of the engine will have little to no affect on this. The front segment of your springs should be 22 inches long.

Not quite sure what that even means. Why would the weight of the 440 or any engine for that matter push the diff forward?:wtf:
 
That does appear to be a pretty big rear tire on the back. .its a bit hard to tell if you have something going on with the springs. I do know some guys are running a 295/50 r15 tire under the rear of a 66-67 charger but that size does sit pretty close to the front of the wheel well

bad pic of my 66. .only one I've got on the ipad, but maybe you can tell that my rear axle appears to sit forward as well. That's factory correct
 
Actually it would be fairly difficult to swap around parts to create that situation. Your driveshaft would be too long and a few other things wouldnt line up. I think there is no problem there. Thats normal.
 
I'm putting new leafs in my 68 now. I went with ESPO Springs and Things. They have a heavy duty spring, 6 leafs on each side. You can order different ride heights also. I'm going with the HD spring and poly bushings. I'm in Tucson. If you would like to check out the ESPO stuff PM me.
