I have been parting out a 73 charger I stripped And I am learning that my prices and willingness to negotiate depend very much on the buyer. For instance, I sold a bunch of parts To a 17 year old kid for $225 that I would have probably held out to $400 for to alot of the older guys that I usually deal with. It was clear that this kid was working and spending his own money for the parts even though his dad was by his side. It felt good to help a younger guy on a very fixed budget to get his project a little closer to complete. Some people I would not even deal with because they all but demanded I give them the parts. This hobby of ours really has Twist and turns That will bring your true self to the surface.

I know exactly how you feel callofthemopar. Though it's pretty rare that I sell parts, I do like to help support Young Guns and Young Huns if I can and will typically give them a better deal or lower hourly rate just to help them out a little. They're the future of our hobby and it will die a slow and painful death without someone to carry the torch after we're gone. I'm going to click your Thanks button just because. :D

Yeah I rarely sell anything any more, I would rather nearly give something to a friend or youngster that needs it, instead of dealing with all the multitude of parts squirrels out there today... IMHFO mainly because of all the people that are too damn cheapskate &/or too arrogant, or "know it all" mentality people, that want the stuff for nothing, they're too arrogant to even be in the muscle/collector car hobby, in the 1st place & will not pay what I want or what anybody wants, which is usually way below current value, In my case anyway... Then they {the same cheap a$$es} want top dollar for their rusty old worn out parts, they got for nothing from someone else & think their chit is "worth it's weight in gold", but won't pay chit for others... go figure

Glad to see that others feel the same! I am 39 and And already feel the need to help my own and other youngsters.

And

Cudachick, funny you should reply because I was just looking at some of my post the other day and laughed a little About our views on powder coating. I guess I am a little jaded Especially after having my a$$ handed to me by Ford, Harley, & Chrysler For mistakes and issues unrelated to the performance of the Coatings I supplied. Big companies Do Not Make Mistakes The suppliers do. Anyway Its good to hear from you.
