Bored at work again, slow day.

I search for this, but didnt find it.

So, we all love working on our old MoPars, but there has got to be at least one job on it that you must absolutly hate doing.

What is it?

Mine?

I have had to drop the tank on ever old Mopar to replace the float or sending unit, or to clean the tank out, hate that job. Getting ready to do it on the Coronet.
Such a pain.

I worked at Mazda for a while, hated doing timing belts on 6 cyl MPV's

Worked at Chrysler once too, want to replace a horn on a Cirrus, I had to take half the stuff out of the front end.

I will never buy a older car with AC again after having my heater core go out on a 79 Ford LTD, that car had it in for me.


Whats yours? Everybody must have one.
 
I'm sure I'll come up with more, but the one that comes to mind now is doing and engine swap on a mid 80's Chevy S10.
 
any Heater core or A/C evaporator replacement,:mad: ........last one I did was on a 01 Ram, had to drop steering column to remove entire dash just to get to it. :mad: WHAT-A-CROCK !
 
Any rear end work..the smell of gear lube makes me wanna puke!

really? I kinda like that smell, along with that burned mechanical smell you get with manual transmissions, i am just weird
 
Last summer when I changed all broken bulbs in the dash lying upside down and using the brakepedal as a pillow, took me 2 hours and I swear thats the last time Im here.

Any under dash work blows the simplest job sucks and is hard to do. I always end up with hurt neck and twisted back.
 
dropping oil and tranny pan and looking for leeks...my drive way is stamped cement and the creeper doesn't like to roll! besides that, i hate getting up and going to work when Ican by home playing with my cars...

The heater core on my '02 went south last year. I dug out the fsm, read the proceedure and promptly called the dodge dealer. FTS.
 
Worst job....working on the car cause you have to, not because you want to. Rear-end lube in the hair. Doing anything on the side of the road, under the car, in 3" of slush. The smell of burning wires, far from home. Fixing PO's half-assed, hack-job, f#$%-ups! Finding metric bolts in threaded holes in my Roadrunner. That sickening feeling you get in your gut when that stubborn bolt suddenly gets "too easy". Discovering a millisecond too late that something was spring-loaded. Your first time adjusting dwell using a bare allen wrench. Your first introduction to Left-Handed threads.
 
1) Installing a clutch over-center spring with the dash in place.

2) Cleaning up any metal parts with sandpaper and wire brushes that should only really be sandblasted (done way too much of that lately).

i agree with all of this, i will add agreeing to help replace a friends starter in a parking lot, in the dark, with no light, twice both on different Chevys, grrrr

WHAT !! the dash on those trucks come out in 15 min. ! easy job, i wait for them to come in !! i love dash work, easy and clean ..... now, right now my least favorite job is pulling trans out of my coronet... the headers wrap around the bottom of trans bellhousing ... the header tubes are maybe 1/2 inch from frame so not like loosening them up will help much !! this sucks:edgy:
