Leno & Iacocca

I'm not a big Mustang guy, I like the 67-70's & I'm not sure this is the best forum for that video either... cool to see nonetheless... I like Jay leno & seeing Lee Iacocca, I also like seeing & hearing some of the history & back ground, linage of the original concept Allegra/Mustang 1 & I have to say, not a big fan of the new 2014 body design yet, I like the 2005-2013, reminds me of the 69-70's, but the new car has some needed up-grades, just too European looking, but it's not Butt Fugly, like the 71-late early 90's Mustang's are, that every secretary or freaken' pimple faced or gold chain wearing automotive squirrelly dude owns & drives it seems... It's sad that they will crush that 2014 concept car, what a waste...

That's the first look at the new mustang I have gotten and I have say I like it. The front grille reminds me of the AC cobra and I really like the taillights. Not to crazy about the black wheels. Looks like a car I would have wanted when I was twenty come to think of it I wouldn't mine having one now. Cool video

Wow, hard to believe he's 89 years old...still remember seeing him in those Chrysler commercials when I was a kid!

Pretty interesting segment, but it's really sad to see Lee Iacocca so feeble
Yup, Lee is getting up there. Saw a show that had Burt Reynolds on it and he looked like he was about dead!

This is the off topic forum.....and I agree with you on the Mustangs.

I've mellowed out in my old age (even though I'm just a wippersnapper compared to many of you old buzzards), and I enjoy learning more about other brands & models of cars. I wouldn't want most of them, but it's informative to see what the other vehicles are all about.

He is pushing 90. And from my Hometown. I'll be happy to be on this side of the turf at that point.

He truly was a hero.......he helped "put America back to work".....and paid us (U.S.A.) back with interest ..not on time but..
EARLY!
with out pay.:eusa_naughty:

thank you, " I."

Variety is the spice of life. I say to each his own. I was 16 when the Mustang was introduced, yes I was hooked. I have had many Mustangs (I have 4 right now). I still like them and will probably own a few more before I am dead. Even die-hard Mopar fans wish their cars had shared the success of the Mustang. Every car company has tried to duplicate the sales of the Mustang offering a competitive model (I like some of those too). Fifty years of success, just imagine how cool a retro-looking A or B-body with a turbo charged injected B or R/B motor and a six speed tranny would be....cone on Fiat hook me up and I'll buy one. PLEASE!!!

Not a huge Iacocca fan since he went from producing the Mustang to the Chryslers with padded half vinyl tops and fine Corinthian leather. He looks about the same as Burt Reynolds did on Gas Monkey garage and Burt is only 77.

The Mustang is still the most bang for the performance buck you can buy today.

I heard a guy from a TED convention on the radio the other day talking about product design that amazes. The thing the old cars lack is that perfect feel to switches, shifters, brake pedal, steering etc. that has made automobiles feel so user friendly today. He talked about the first time he saw lights in a car that dimmed and went out slowly over six seconds as opposed to turning off immediately. He said everyone loves it and may not know why. It is the same six second dimming when the lights in a movie theater dim that creates the expectation of something special about to happen.

On the old cars, you are just glad when everything works. You don't care if it has a silky smooth precision to how it feels.

Yeah...LOL... I know, my references were in jest, because it's a Mopar forum, not a Ford or Mustang forum, messing with/needling RC/DH... I completely understand, it's the anything goes forum section, we see allot of anything goes here, that's really the least offending to me...
