Hey all!! New to this forum but not to Mopars.. my first car was a '68 Roadrunner back in 1976. Always wanted a '70 Roadrunner...finally got one in 1996. I completely restfied it...was red, now In Violet...Sandy got her good, wiped the left quarter and door, ruined the 451 that was on the engine stand, and I had to break the column to get it out of the water...now its back to square one,.. Im not giving up on my baby...

Sorry to hear about another victim of Sandy. Can't keep a good Mopar down. Welcome to FBBO and your new restoration project. Plenty of help here for whatever you need.

OOF, that's a nasty looking pic.

On the bright side, you DID save the car.

Looks like quite the mess with the house and rest of your stuff, too.

On a related note, I drove my 73 Satellite from the home of the previous owner, about 65 miles to my home all the way through Sandy from one end to the other.

I had not driven the car more than one block prior to the rain starting, and the master cylinder was bad, leaking at the shaft seal, the wipers didn't work due to the plastic bushings being rotten, and the defroster didn't work because of a bad vacuum actuator for the door.

My first stop was CVS to buy brake fluid, paper towels, and rain-x.

Nothing quite like an unfamiliar car with no brakes, no wipers, and no defrost on a long road trip through a torrential downpour, going "the back way" on unfamiliar roads.

...oh, and lots of non-functional traffic lights!

We made it, though.

hi and welcome to the site ,that's the second 70 bird that I`ve seen that's been in a bad storm in and under water ,glad to see you saved your bird !:headbang:

Hey, YY and Snakeyes....not a trial by fire, but trial by water..test of fortitude and determination...God only gives you what you can handle

Nice RR, sorry to see the water problems...
