can you reinstall push rods in any push rod bore or are they supposed to be put back in the same one they came out of?

They will go anywhere.

you can install them in random order as long as someone didn't alter the lengths to compensate for uneven valve stem heights from a poor valve job.

Like Meep says, It probably doesn't matter, but I like to keep them in the order they were removed until I can check to make sure they are all equal length. I like to put them back in the same bore they came from but that's just me.

thats a good tip about the lengths, I never would of thought to look for it regarding valve geometry, that would have been a mess figuring out

Are these stock push rods and how many miles are on them? PR's and rockers are a wear item too and with high performance using high spring pressures, it's even more important to check them for wear.

these are stock , I dont know how many miles they have on them, the engine was rebuilt and has 8,000 miles on it but I dont know if he reused the old ones the springs are stock specs and the cam is cranes old school version of a 509, the venerable fire ball, same duration but 484 lift
