Hi Team, got a new light switch for SP today. It is a Standard Ignition switch with the 7 terminals. Everything fits so far, but there is one difference between this one and the old one. This one has a Terminal that comes out the Back. It looks like a place to put a Ground, but I want to be certain that is what it is. No Instrux came with the switch. Here is a Pic.

It is that little "tail" coming out the back. Looks like a Ground as it is hooked to the bottom Steel casing. Would like to Ground to Good, but I do not want to blow anything up. Thanks in advance, B.

Hello Guys. Well, I put in the Head Light Switch after I scuffed the area where it makes contact, added a ground wire that is hooked to Alum back of the Instrument panel and that then to the Neg on the Battery. Put in stem, pulled out the switch, turned the switch left to right, fast to slow, turned the key to ON, and NO Instrument lights. Grrrrr. Here is a pic of it in the dash.

The Ground Wire coming from the small screw on the back of the Instrument panel is hooked directly to the Neg on the Battery. Got an Idea folks?

I have a chair next to the car for Frustration to set in. :)

Thanks in advance, B.

Ok, so I looked in the SM and did some Test Light work and here is what I see so far. As you can see on the Back side of the head light switch, I hooked up a Ground. In this case, the larger Alligator Clip is going back direct to the Negative on the Battery. The smaller Alligator Clip is for my test light ground. When I pull out the Light Switch, key on, while looking at the Pic, the top left wire is Black with Tracer. That in the SM shows it going to the Ignition Switch, Battery Side. When I touch it with the Test Light, Ground as you see it here, the Test light lights up. With the Switch pulled out, the only other Test Light Up I can get is on the Green Wire, which goes to the Dimmer Switch and on out to the Head Lamps.

Now, the "Tan" wire is the one that goes to "Instruments" according to the SM. With Lights on, Key On, when I touch the test light to the back side of the Tan wire, nothing. When I touch that little copper area that feeds off the Rio stat, Nothing. No matter if I turn the light switch left or to right. Nothing from the Test Light with the light switch pulled out and turned.

So, there I am. Any help would VERY much be appreciated. I hope that I am just a dummy here and you folks can tell me and give me that Brotherly look, YOU DUMMY. :) Thank you in advance, B.
