Lighting problems and heater fan problems with my 1963 Fury

My 63 Fury has some wiring issues - the brake lights, backup lights & license plate lights, dash lights don't work. The heater fan doesn't work and when I was trying it out smoke started coming out of defrost/ac vents (I haven't tried that again). The dash gauges work and the parking lights work, the radio works. Anyone know where i should start to run these down. Does anyone know any shop or person in Lower Alabama or nearby who may can handle these problems? Thanks

Need to start on them one at a time. I see no relationship between the problems.

Did you just purchase this car, or is this a car that you have owned for some time and these problems just started?
