I have a 318 and i swapped out a crappy holly 2bbl on the stock manifold for an Edelbrock performer and a edelbrock 4bbl carb.

Everything is fine except the throttle cable is too short and, using the stock cable bracket on the manifold, it is also too low. Any ideas of the right set up for a throttle cable and bracket? Also, does anyone have a photo of how the kick down setup should look?

The car is a 68 satellite..

thanks!

They have an adaptor kit for the carb-to-linkage. The height of the Eddy intake changes things too as far as the factory brackets. I'm at that point on my car also. I've heard good and bad about using a "Lokar" brand throttle and kick-down set-up. Maybe someone can help both of us! This is a very common issue. Good luck!

To short? A 4V's attaching point is a bit farther forward, but when I changed my 68 318 Satellite wagon to a 440+6 I used the original cable. I also used a correct 440 six pack bracket.

yeah, the 4bbl is a little more forward, but the performer manifold and the carb together are much higher than the stock(ish) setup i replaced, i think thats what the issue is

>I also used a correct 440 six pack bracket.

i think thats my prob, i should have put a 6 pack on it ;)

Mancini sells an adjustable cable bracket for taller manifolds, it works great. This may be the fix you need, check their web site.
