my original 383 - 2468130 (10) has an "LL" under the casting number on both sides of the block.

Anyone know what the LL is? Block is date coded 9-6-67 on the drivers side.

Deck stamp on top just below the dizzy is - D383 12 292

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I am not sure what the LL on the side of the block means. What year is your car? The date stamp you listed for the 383 you have is for a 68 engine.

1969 road runner, Yes everything indicates a 68 383 forged in 67 assembled in 68. Working on the vin now which is on the back area at the bell housing top it is 8A2C7593

my vin is RM23H9E136923 So trying to figure out if this engine came with the car or is a rebuild ect.

on another note just below the casting towards the back are the letters N D with a time stamp I can't read. Not sure what that means either. Need a MOPAR cryptologist!

That was the shift that made the casting.
I should know what the LL means. I've seen it before.
