(3) hardest ? if i can drive this car
ballpark what would be a fare
price to pay
Bought mine last year, running car with tired poly 318 minor rust issues and needed top for 5500. With todays economy and if the floor pans are ok I would say 4-4500 tops.
Toughest hurdle you'll have to get over is body panels....There are some patch panels out on the market, but that's about it. Pans and rails won't be an issue to find if they need help. Some of the core metal is the same as the 68-70 (which they produce a lot of), so that should take some ease off of finding fresh tin. As far as price, what Engine/tranny does it have? Is it original? What are some of the other options as in: Power brakes/Steering? A/C? Rear end? Ect..ect..Documentation-Does it have a fender tag/broadcast sheet? Interior won't be too tough to find..Folks like Legendary make a lot of the interior, like new seat covers and headliners for that car. Kick panels and sunvisors are also made reproduction along with other interior trim. Donor wise, pretty good availibility with finding used parts across the board as well.
The body scares me but the color combo is very cool. If you could drive it as it it would make a great beater. If you decide it is too far gone to restore the convertible specific parts will be worth quite a bit although they might take a while to sell.
I would pay $3500 in a heartbeat. More than that would require a very close examination.
