Hello, I have been toying with the idea all winter about changing over to an EFI system for multiple reasons. Ease and performance gains from proper tuning

The engine is a pretty built crate big block with indy heads and indy 4150 intake and custom cam. Before full break in, the dyno almost hit 700HP

Tuning can be a bit of a pain with the demon carb

So benefits to EFI. I am looking at the FAST system. Any experience with this system? What is everybody else using

I know some systems have more adjustment but I like the fast learning. You know, driving instead of tweaking

I bought a FAST - EZ EFI 2.0 last year and finally got it installed into my car. My story is posted here. After a huge project, I finally got the engine fired up this past weekend using the FAST system. I should point out that I had altered the factory wiring harness so I could move all of the wiring under my dash rather than under the hood. After correcting one wiring issue, it fired up right away and idled rather well. It couldn't start learning though because I didn't have the full exhaust on - this leads to a false reading with the O2 sensor.

I installed the full exhaust yesterday and it ran well and began to learn - very rich - but ran nontheless.

I'm quite excited about getting it out on the road this summer. My goal is to make it fun/easy to drive. No more buggering around with a carburetor.

Good luck with your decision.

I was planning on going a bit of a different route rather than the FAST system. I would like a high ram intake such as the Edelbrock Pro flo XT but run it with holley dominator ECU.

Rumors are that the Holley new version which is in beta testing at the moment will support GM style flexi fuel senders in order to run E85 mixtures plus it has a lot of aux input for different sensors. Do we have a specific place where EFI people hang out here btw?

Hey Dreadl0ck,
I've been really happy with the Accel system. It was called Accel DFI when I purchased it. The system can be installed on any intake with injector provisions. I put it on a small block Chevy huge difference in performance. It is VE based and requires a laptop for tuning. Baseline tables are available for most engine combinations. It is a powerful tool with built in inputs for up to 3 stages of Nitrous and 2 Bar boost. I suggest you give them a call.

Joel

Everybody thank you for the insight and help. I believe I will be going with the FAST system

Bummer that I have to rip out my fuel cell and sending unit.
