Looking to restore my dream car with my dad before he gets too old! Problem is finding a 1970 roadrunner for a 19 year old kids budget isn't very easy. I do have a 1966 mustang project that I want to trade but I'm doubtful anyone is interested on here haha

You ain't lying....old timers have made these cars skyrocket in worth..something about chasing their youth or wanting to feel young again...yea, right. Sadly even Swiss cheese rust bucket "B" body cars are into five digits. Good luck dude.

Define your "budget"??.......What type of restoration are you looking to get into??

Those are very two important questions before moving forward........

Deals are still out there, some come sooner or later but stay on the hunt and find something you can afford.......Maybe restore an A body with your pops!

As far as car values etc...That is the current market....it always changes. For me when I was 19, I did not have a 68-70 B body even though I wanted one but I didn't fuss about it or pass off some lame excuse. Through time, hard work, and education that did change......

I bought my current "project" for $4000 and it came with $5K worth of new AMD metal and lots of parts. I sold off at least 3K worth of stuff I wasn't going to use. It wasn't advertized at all, just word of mouth. Deals are still out there. Keep looking at the ads, but more importantly, put the word out that your looking. Networking!

You would probably be a lot happier and far better off buying a car already done. Restoring mopars is not cheap and people think their rusted out junk parts are worth gold.

Oh I know, it's just always been a dream to do it with my dad the way we want. You know,

I'm just looking to see what's out there. I'm not whining about anthing at all, I've been working for 4 years and have a little over $4000 saved up plus this project mustang I paid $2000 for. Just trying to dig around, learn a little from the guys that really know what they're talking about.

I was not referring that to you my friend, it was related to the second poster in this thread....

Take it from a guy whom does know and has done a dozen restorations, 90% work done myself btw...the project Mustang sell it as is and move on. Tally those funds up and then decide what type of restoration you want to embark on. Perfection will cost around 100k and a driver can cost around 30k. They are not fictional numbers. As another poster said restoring mopars at any level is not cheap....

Your dream is achievable and there are deals out there. Market your search and put it our there and you will find it. There is no better project than a father son project....I wish I had a 70 runner to sell you.
