Noticed some valvetrain noise on the driver's side, and after taking the valve cover off noticed a lot of play in most of the rocker arms. All the rocker shaft bolts are still tightened down so I'm wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the slop out or if it goes deeper than that.

Stocker Chrysler stamped steel rockers with hydraulic lifters in a 440, currently in a '67 Charger (not that it matters). The video below shows how much play I've got, and there's also some play on the passenger side as well.

They are hydraulic flat tappet lifters. Once the engine is off n pressure has bled down, there will be slop. How much depends on the lifters.

The ticking has only gotten worse over the course of the last week, so I assume there's SOMETHING that needs to be done about it.

If the are bad they will need replaced.

Could be an exhaust leak. They can tick tick.

hydraulic flat cam & lifters? pull the lifters out and inspect them & the cam lobes

Several places to look for wear.
Like mentioned , cam and lifters.
Push rod ends , rocker arms shaft hole and push rod end cup, Rocker shafts are pretty hard but allways worth a look over.
A little wear here and there plus like posted above lifter bleed down
To loose is better than to tight but once its making noise while running it's time to take it apart.

Check everything as stated above, but keep in mind that stamped steel rockers are plenty loose on the shaft, as they only ride on the bottom.

I just replaced a wiped cam in the roadrunner. Make sure to always use good oil like VR1 with a flat tappet cam. I agree with everyone above.
