Lowering Compression 5.9

Long story short...I'mrunning a forced induction 5.9 magnum...going to use forged pistons and stock heads. I am aim for 8-1 compression or so...finding forged pistons for that is tricky. Question. Can i use stroker pistons with stock rods and crank to dramatically reduce compression? Please explain any reasoning. Thank you

You don't need to go to 8-1. We run a 360 at 9.4-1. However you do need a piston with the ring lands .250" down an at least .200" crown thickness. Otherwise it'll sag the center of the piston. Stock rods are fine. Ran 10.60@3800 with a 2.76 gear@12psi. Now has been 9.55@142, 3750lb 3.55 gear

I wanna run pump gas if possible? Do you think i could keep safe around 9 points and daily 8 psi? I will occasionally hit 10 i suppose but i will probably run a methanol injection kit. And an intercooler.

Look around, there are low compression forged slugs for your mill and stroke.
