Another update

Over the winter I bought the chassis that was under the "Sensation" '65 Plymouth. Reed Koeppe found and ID this car and it's lineage. This car was originally the '64 Melrose Missile VI with the adjusted wheelbase, aluminum nose, and of course; Hemi power. Sometime in 1966 or 1967 after the car had changed hands a time or 2 and been repainted, the car reveived full funnycar treatment with a 2X3 chassis and cage which stuffed the Hemi back where the dahsboard was and pushed the frontend out another couple inches with a tube axle.

Everything I have with the car (including conversations with the person who drove the car before and after it was converted to a funnycar) says that the chassis was done by Don Long. I have spoken with Don Long and he says it isn't his work; so go figure. I'm inclined to believe that there was atleast some Don Long involvement here, and I'd love to get to the bottom of it. Anyway, here are some pics of the chassis and my Dodge shell that I will slide onto the chassis.

DOH! I forgot to add pictures of the chassis also! I got it with all of the aluminum interior, the steering shaft/wheel, throttle/brake pedals, etc. Oh, and a picture of my 5yr old son Joshua helping me tinker with the chassis.
