Main cap differences?

Any difference in main caps from the forged crank motors to the cast crank motors? I have a 68 440 that has main caps that are cast colored. I am redoing a 73 440 that had a cast crank that I am using for my stroker rotating assembly and the main caps are almost black (very dark) in color in comparison to the cast colored block. Any differences in strength between these or just a casting thing?

If you are concerned with strength, several aftermarket main caps are available.

Nah I'm ok with the strength. It has main studs in it that I did, just wanted to check the different year caps before I sent it to the machine shop.
