Main cap orientation-help me remember!?

440 was apart when I bought it. The main caps are numbered 1 to 5 as usual, but there is no arrow to orientate them. I seem to remember that the bearing shell tabs should be on the same side for both rods and mains. Is that right?

Yes, the notches face each other. You may also find that the parting line doesn't match up well if you put them the other way. Caps are numbered 1-5 front to back.
