i asked what type of fluid /packing went into the manual steering box-and with no reply i found out the hard way--open mine up--and found grease--not oil but grease -thanks parts dept -for the incorrect answer--any other care to comment on theirs?

Grease is the correct lubricant used by the factory.

According to my shop manual, the correct fill is multi-purpose 90# oil.

11 oz is the correct fill.

There may have been a change somewhere along the line. All the 60's stuff I seen had grease in it. Oil makes more sense to me anyway.
