I got a 1962 Plymouth with Manual Steering, broke my steering box, Just received a used one today.
Pulled the Pittman arm off and my Pittman arm is splined larger than the shaft on replacement ??? The replacement was supposed to be a 1962 unit as well but obviously not the same. Any ideas... I guess I can try to swap out the guts from one to the other but, I don't know if that's possible. They may not be the same internally.

If the pitman shaft on your car's steering box is larger, then it could be a C body manual box that was installed by a previous owner. What are the diameters of the two shafts? I think the B body is aprox. 1 1/8", and the C body is 1 1/4"

Looking at box #'s I'm thinking it might be a big block vs. slant six thing... the small ones # is 2267225 larger #is 2267521.....
