The stock manual steering box (converted from power) on my big block '65 Coronet is worn out. Has anybody used a Flaming River (or similar) steering box? If so, what ratio did you get and are you happy with your decision? My car is street/highway driven and I have 215-70X15 front tires.

I had a 16.1 Flamming River box on my 72 GTX with 10x18 tires on front. It took two men and a boy to turn the wheel at slow speeds. Put the factory 24.1 box back in and at least I could drive it. I have heard that they (FR) only make a 20.1 box now but cannot confirm.

Checked with steer and gear and they are really, really proud of their products.
Flaming River is definitely an option, but I have to agree that 16:1 would eliminate the need for any other type of upper body exercise.
I see that Mancini has 20:1 gears available. I wonder if anything else is needed and how hard it is to rebuild my own unit with that part.
