Is anyone else going to to the Mopar Action thing at Maple Grove (Pa.) this weekend?

I'll be there both days.Really looking foward to it:icon_thumright::hello2:

I was surprised at the reponse to this also. I'll be there, probably on saturday.

Ill be there on sat.love to see those mopars.

I may be attending but don't know if I can get away with that and carlisle in 2 weeks

Wanted to, but I'm stuck in Nowhereville NC for the weekend! :(

after the fiasco at pinks allout at maple grove last year with the tech nazi .bruce wilson.
i dont think i'd be too welcome there since his local boy with the black datsun deep staged and moved before the air drop against me. i think i'd have a target on my back during tech. there plus the weather doesnt look too good for friday and saturday. too long of a haul for 1 day.

Chris... Who is that guy? Does he work there?

Not to pass judgment on him because I don't know him he maybe a very nice guy, but he was a real tool on TV at Pinks.

im not passing judgement. i seen his assenine antics first hand. he was worse in person and getting teched by him was a complete nightmare.
He was dieing to find something wrong with my car.
He said he didnt like NYers and saw my license plate.
When i went up against the datsun is when you saw his true colors so i'm not passing judgement.

So your statement about he may be a nice guy but was a real tool on tv is contradictory.:icon_puke_r:

Hey I was just being nice... I've never met the man and I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. I know you NYers wouldn't know anything about being nice... LMAO! :argue:

So he is a tech official at the Grove who was given the almighty power of the NHRA , that's just great.......:icon_puke_r:

You still should have went. Screw em.

Dad blew the tires off in the left lane on the first time tral and went 9.92. (I was watcing it on line and every SS-AH car that went in the left lane had the same problem.
The second time trail he went 9.80 @137.8 MPH, which is a lot better than last week. They only got two time trails... which is BS. the Box and No Box classes got 3.

Oh well we'll see what happens.

Too bad you couldn't be there Chris. I sure as hell understand, though. I went today and it was okay for a first time event. There were maybe 20-30 vendors and I bought a couple of small things. The manufacturers midway didn't have much ( a few though)but I couldn't stop looking around the Indy display. It might have had something to do with that 572" Hemi sittin there. I kept tryin to tuck it under my arm but couldn't do it. A fair number of race cars. Some of the newer Challengers ran really good. I think the best that Garlits did was a 10.31. Still love those Nostalgia Super Stockers including the SS/AH cars. Show cars seemed to have a lot of the newer stuff. Did get to talk with another '68 Bee owner. Nice car. Also remember a real nice Black/Black '68 Road Runner HT with a Hemi/4spd.

I just couldnt take the chance of the tech nazi giving me **** and not letting me race. its a long trip for me.I would have loved to brought the light blue dodge there
i wonder if the tech nazi was there?
i heard today at island dragway that maple grove management gave bruce wilson his walking papers.
was there alot of racers there?
how was the NSS turnout?
was this friday till sunday event?

If I had to guess, I would say 15-20 NSS cars. I might be off the correct total by a little. Maybe another 10 or so SS/AH cars. I think the best I saw was an 8.44. I remember watching Bucky Hess going 8.99 there and that seems like a long time ago. I know Bucky laid claim to that being the first 8 second run which I believe was disputed by Bullet Bob Reed. I always liked watching both of 'em. Bob Reed was always entertaining to talk to (subtle enough?). He never hesitated to give you his opinion. Stiles' SS/AH car made one pass that I saw and appeared to have trans problems.
Yes, it was a Friday to Sunday event. I only went yesterday. I don't get around so good anymore and one day was enough. Enjoyed the heck out of it, though!!
