Any of you guys use a marine battery on your bracket car. My car is nothing special. Foot brake small block, MSD 6AL, 60 amp alt., elect fan, elect water pump drive, stock Chrysler elect dizzy. Love to hear your opinions on them.

Mainly my understanding of Marine Batteries {not the military type, that goes boom...LOL...} just a deep-cycle battery made for draining & recharging multiple times, marine apps with less plate/cell warp-age's, possibly spark control with allegedly less chance of arching/fire suppression, higher temps etc. in a sealed engine compartment/boat hull... something along those lines anyway...

Never mind. I found a short in a recently installed wire & THATS what was causing my battery issues.........ARGH!!!!!

Well, if it matters any...
I have used Marine batteries plenty of times in my bracket cars. Never had any issues. In fact, I think I have one in my Fury but I would have to go look.

We switched to the Optima yellow top marine battery from the red top that wasn't being all that it could be and haven't had to think about it until now.

Those batterys are kinda expensive. I think I will be ok not that I found my dumb fubar. If not 'll be back asking for advise here again.

Most of my friends own shops so our jobber cost is less than what the rest of the humans pay for a red top. A small price to pay for piece of mind and if you've ever been sitting in the staging lanes during eliminations and turned the key to the dreaded sound of clkclkclkclk then you would know what I mean.
