Hey guys,

Wanting to paint my Master Cylinder Cap (manual drum brakes) semi-gloss black as it was from the factory?

Anybody accomplished this to some degree so that it looks good and can still withstand and occasional removal or two for service? If so what type of paint, etc.? Did you have to powder coat? Is this the best route to go or will paint cut it?

Thank you in advance,

Jeff

I can’t think of a Chrysler manual drum brake master cylinder cap that was black painted from the factory. They were all plated. This also helps them look good for a long time as brake fluid won’t attack plating. Thinking Late 50’s up to the late 70’s.

What is your car?

65 Belvedere 1. Cap was painted semi-gloss black.

Appliance paint is incredible, almost like powder coating.
