One of our members asked about matching numbers and someone else mentioned Corvette obsessions. Here's just a few of the obscene examples I found on eBay for new old stock original Corvette bolts ( yes, bolts ! )
* 7/16" bolt with "dimple " : $95.
* 1/4" ignition shield bolt with "3 circles " : $50.
BUT WAIT !!
* wing nut for air cleaner : $165.
Yes, I own a Corvette, but feel a lot more comfortable over here with the MOPAR crowd. We really seem to have our priorities in order. Going to New England Dragway for their 50th Anniversary on Sept.10 and you KNOW that I'll be in the Road Runner . Rocket

Utterly ridiculous!
I can see $1,500 to $3,00 for a rare Quadrajet, maybe $4,000 but not for the bolts....

I was looking at a 65 Coronet 12-13 years ago, the guy had an average looking 66 427 Corvette. He showed me an nos air filter that he paid $2500 for!! The Coronet was a crap pile.

Who do you think bought all the mopars in the 80's?

I've had my 66 427 Corvette for about 28 years now and restored it about 20 years ago. It looks stock, period correct and mostly as GM built it - but there isn't a stock drive train part in it and I purposely bought it that way so when a starter goes out I could go down to my local store and pick one up and not worry about finding someone to rebuild the correct date coded original. It's nice but NCRS incorrect.
