Hi Guys,
I am assembling a max wedge intake setup and I have the intake and 2 carter 9504, 500 cfm carbs. I picked up the parts individually and have a question about the linkage.
I intend to use a repro linkage kit from Mancini. Does anyone know if I have to get Mopar linkage adapters for the 2 Carter carbs? The carbs have what Carter calls universal linkage now.
Also, I have a 63, 727 trans that will be used with this intake setup. Do I need to get a max wedge kick down rod, or will an aftermarket cable setup work. My car is not a concours resto. so looks do not matter now. Any help appreciated, Bob Myers

Bob, Most likely the bell crank on the carb throttle shafts will extend too low to clear the manifold. I had to cut a piece of the linkage off to get the two 500's on my car to work. You will not need the mopar linkage adapter. I'm not sure about the kick-down linkage. My car is a four-speed.

Why not just call and ask Mancini?

THATS A JOKE.
all they are are order takers.

you'll need maxwedge kickdown linkage to make it work.
get your stuff from crossramconnection.com
his name is norm brady and bypass mancini racing. norms the go to guy and makes all this stuff for mancini racing, a & a trans. etc.

get yourself a set of 600 cfm edelbrocks or a set of carter carbs used.

As i stated you can try Mancini as i have not had a problem getting a answer to a question from them.

Same here. Never had a problem with them. I did have issues with another well known company who sold us parts for a 62-63 Max wedge instead of a 64.
