I started acquiring parts for my '63 Max Wedge build, and purchased the intake portion last week at Carlisle. I plan on going with a 440 block and non Max-W heads, for better street friendly usage, with the occasional visit to the strip, so I went with the newer look alike setup. I would like to use the original cast style exhaust manifolds, but not sure if they will match up to newer heads ? Did I shoot myself in the foot by getting the 440 smaller port version of the manifold, or will the exhaust manifolds fit a modern, cast high flow head ? I really don't want to use headers, as I really like the original style cast units. Any, and all help is appreciated...Thanks

check them with an exhaust gasket in comparison to the heads, lining up bolt holes .

the MW exhaust port window is larger but that shouldn't be a problem with the standard port exhaust window.

Thanks for getting back on my issue. From what you're saying, the original cast type exhaust manifolds should bolt up to other heads, with the only difference being the size of the port being larger, and no real problem ? I was hoping that was the case. Thanks again for that info...

stud spacing is the same on MW or standard port heads. you'll be fine.
