Heads won't help you very much with the cross ram. The intake is the cork. Been down that trail. Put an Indy 440-25 box ram on it'll pick up 50-100HP with no other changes.I ran a pair of those Sr's fully ported in Max Wedge on a 500 inch with an original MW cross ram in my 63 Plymouth for almost 20 years.
Car went 10.18 in qtr at 3500 lbs. I now have the bigger Indy 440-1 and hope to get to the track soon to test and tune. ruffcut
@dvw I was looking at the Indy 440-25 for my 541 stroker, but I think I put it aside because of height when I was still delusional thinking my Weiand P3690982 6bbl old school Super Stock intake may fit under my N96 hood, but it isn't close. Since I need hood clearance anyway, do you know if anyone has run the Indy 440-25 with a 6bbl? Please bear with me, I absolutely am going to run a 3x2 air fuel delivery on the stroker, even if I leave power on the table. I've seen a couple of the Weiand intakes modded by F&B for EFI. I am going to start out with my Promax modded Holley 6bbl. If the Weiand can be opened to Max Wedge port size, that was the route I was going to pursue, with the Indy ModMan in MW port size w/6bbl top as a last resort if the Weiand is a total dog no matter how much I tweak it. I'd even be willing to have a top machined for a 6bbl if need be for the 440-25.The intake is the cork. Been down that trail. I ive got 3 or 4 indy heads m/w port that have repair and 2-3 that just have a thin thought spot l don’t know about.I had a problem with 1 head. The porter went thru a wall a d I had to send it back to be fixed. He used Belzona. I hoped he would of welded it but he says I won’t have any problems. I hope he is right. Kim
