So I bought the MBM front disc brake conversion kit for my '70 Coronet.
All installed well UNTIL I get to the part where I place the caliper and pads on the bracket. They won't fit onto the rotor. Hhmmm...
The pads together are 1.2 inches thick, the rotor is 1.0 inches thick for a total of 2.2 inches. The opening in the caliper is 2.075 inches. Not gonna fit.
So here's my problem: is my rotor or pads too thick, or is my caliper wrong?
There's more to my story. I'm in the Arctic. Everything must be slowly and expensively shipped in. So I can't just go to the corner store and shop. But I want to do this safely and properly, so I don't want to machine my rotor if the caliper or pads are wrong, don't want to change the caliper if the pads or rotor are wrong. Does anyone know the proper measurements and what part(s) I need to change?
