CNN- Michael Schumacher, the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, is in critical condition after suffering "severe head trauma" in a skiing accident in the French Alps on Sunday, hospital officials said.

this guy is the Dale Earnhardt and then some of F1 racing ..sad just retired

Dude might be the best race car driver that ever lived. I saw an F1 race a few years back when he was with Ferarri, it was pouring down rain, took the lead from the beginning, never was passed and I think he lapped the whole field - he was in a class of his own. Get well soon Michael.

Yeah I saw that again earlier today, it's kind of sad, keeping him in a medically induced COMA...

My wife told me they pulled the plug on him earlier this today .. of course she didn't know who he was but she was shocked they didn't even wait for him to potentially come back .. first I've head of it from her / here so I don't know whats been reported.

I just googled and see nothing about pulling the plug so I don't know what she heard and I haven't seen an RC post so he must still have a chance.

Curiously enough there was a story on the evening new today about a dude that was pronounced dead, put in a body bag and woke up in the morgue. He had a pacemaker and it kicked off again and he was like wtf?

This ^. It was to reduce swelling of his brain. Latest I've seen is a full recovery is not expected.

I seems like a lot of famous folks die this way and who knows how many regular citizens like us that no one has heard of.

I skied one time, and not at a young age, and I was having a blast until I wasn't. Had to sleep in a recliner for about 6 months to let my ribs heal. Never doing that again.

Yeah, he's not expected to make a full recovery. No word on pulling the plug though.
