About a year ago or longer I was asking for input on cordless impact wrenches. Well a couple months ago I finally got around to making a decision. I bought the Milwaukee 2663-22 1/2 w/friction ring. It does about 450 ft/lbs of torque with a variable speed trigger. The friction ring isn't too bad. I was concerned about that but so far so good.

Milwaukee ain't what they used to be... They are made of the finest Chinesium now. But I wanted a cordless and from what research I did it seems they are all made of Chinesium or Mexicanisium. Only used it about 10x in the last couple months but so far have been pretty impressed with it. Mostly tire changes but had a real stubborn, rusted trailer hitch ball that this thing blasted though like it was butter.

For like $379.00 you get the gun, 2 lithium ion batteries with charge indicator, charger and a hard case. I had been eyeballing the Ingersoll Rand 7150 but that thing is just a freakin beast (also chinesium) and costs a little more than I wanted to pay.

Anyway, thought I would share my experience if anyone else was in the market.

Thanks for the info. It just goes to show that not all Chinesium is bad.

I will freakin bite you man....

Good luck with that Milwaukee Brian.....Had good luck with their non-Asian MFG stuff. My ingersoll air impact (made in England) breaks wrists...I'd be willing to try out their electric version, if it wasn't "chinesium"

We use a lot of those Milwaulkee impacts at work, they do a great job. (I work at a railroad). Kids who use them the first time learn the hard way that they'll twist a 1/2" bolt grade 5 in half in no time. But I prefer the forward/backward trigger on the Makita, so that's my choice at work.

I have a Dewalt thats been holding up pretty well. For about a $100 less. Its been said before..... Milwaukee aint what they used to be...

I've had allot of good luck with almost every type of 7vt -9vt -12vt Cordless Makita tools, also a 110vt 10" radial arm miter saw & many different Milwaukee brand stuff, sawsall, 7-1/4" worm drive skill saw, 1/2" right angle "Wrist Breaker" drill, chop saw, portable band saw, 7" grinder, 3-1/2" grinder, 8" buffer, 1/2" variable speed impact capable hand drill, but haven't bought anything new in years now... most were purchased before all the out sourcing crap... my old portable air compressor was an Ingersoll Rand, I have allot of the older Ingersoll air tools too, various 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" ratchets, guns, peanut grinders, cut off tools, angle grinders, 3/8" & 1/2" reversible air drills... my compressor it lasted from around 1989-2011 lots of construction & car projects probably a minimum of 5,000 hr's or more...

Milwaukee, Porter Cable, DeWalt, and even Craftsman used to be names that you could trust for high quality power tools. Now they are kind of the best of the pack of marginal tool makers. We used to use Milwaukee drills at my old job and they were so reliable that you could use it every day and if you didn't get it stolen or lose it, it would still be in your tool box when you retired. I doubt that would happen anymore. Most people aren't willing to pay extra for a good quality tool.

We use all dewalt stuff in the bridge building trade.Stuff gets dropped, plopped in the mud, left in the rain and snow and beat to crap but always keeps on goin.About the only Milwaukee we use are the circular saws.

I have the same impact gun (Milwaukee) and I mostly love it. Mine doesn't have the friction ring, just that stupid *** little button that won't let go when you want it to. Maybe I should get Will's cat after it.
