I am wanting to check the timing on a 318 in a car I just bought but I can't seem to find the timing marks on the cover. It's a '67 318. Any ideas? Can you buy just the tab or a complete cover? Thanks in advance.
On small block the timing mark is cast into the cover itself. I believe the early ones are on the passenger side/right side. Probably under 47 years of crud
Well I found it. After scratching around on the cover and finding nothing, I found this:
It was on the wrong side (I think) tucked up under the radiator hose. So I turned it around and put it on the right (pass) side and now I can check the timing.
