I installed some Monro-Matic shocks on all four corners of my 67 Coronet wagon a half year ago or so and lately I've found my car is starting to porpoise over big freeway heaves again. It doesn't rebound repeatedly like the blown old shocks, but it will hit a bump, pop up, go down and then bump up again like a stereotypical "old boat."
These shocks ride smooth but it seems like they barely have enough damping for a 3700 pound station wagon after being run in for barely 3-4k miles. I'm running stock-size small block torsion bars. Would I be happier if I sprung for some RCD Bilsteins or would that make my ride worse?
