Mopar distributor?

Check again only a few bucks different in the ones you posted. I'd go with the classic industries one. Though I've heard you should use a chrome box instead of orange.

Whats the difference in the chrome and orange box?the price i see is what i posted 130 and 242

Sorry missed that. The one for $242 is Mopar Performance. The other is proform brand

With today's manufacturing environment it's hard to tell what the differences are. In the "old days" the Mopar blue box was the race ECU, orange box street ECU. Mopar upgraded the blue to the chrome box ECU. Both blue & chrome had high RPM capability past 7000 RPM. Don't think the orange box was really good for more than about 6000 RPM, just my opinion. With todays stuff, who knows who the supplier is and what quality to expect. I'd probably trust a Mopar chrome box more than a "no name" chrome box. IMO Distributors about the same. I've stuck with my mid '70's cast iron Hemi tach drive electronic because it works. I doubt an MSD billet would do any better, maybe a little easier to adjust timing curve. Again the "orange box" ECU's were street, under 6000 rpm boxes, doubt the aftermarket are much different, could be wrong.

If you buy all the cheap stuff....it can cost you 3-4 times as much in the end. Not a plan I use.

The Classic Industries is probably Chinese, the Ebay on from Proform is definitely Chinese. I wouldn't buy either one myself. All of Mancini's kits are les expensive than Classic, and likely better quality, if not the same kit even. Here is a link to Mancini Racing for their kits:

The above table explains the need for the proper coil for the application. I note that the orange and chrome boxes need to have the proper coil. The blue box with the recommended coil goes past 7000 rpm no problem. The P4120534 must be the gold box. Current day electronic components should be superior, but you just never know what the quality is. I have some antique parts i should sell since they're equal or better than you can get today.

I'd go with the Mancini kit that uses the Firecore distributor. These distributors are easy to adjust the mechanical advance if needed. The others might not have the ability to adjust without major work. I've been running a Firecore for 3 years now.

I bought a chrome box off summit for $60, made in USA...one thing I did notice when switching from the orange to chrome, I don't have to keep my idle up as high on cold starts. I have a carb without a choke and now I feather it lightly above idle and it idles down by itself after about a minute...with the orange box I had to give it a little more throttle for longer, to get it to idle...
Edit= bought mopar performance chrome box from summit, the one in their picture says made in mexico, but what I got is usa made part
