I'm getting close to closing the deal on a 69 R/T charger with the original driveline. The numbers matching 440 is out of the vehicle because another one was used to play with. Who can I trust in the Tampa area to help get the block (let's assume it's undamaged as promised by seller) gone over and reassembled with the original 906 heads, carb, manifold. It is my intent to match it up again with the 4-spd currently in the car.

Thanks!

Don't settle just for local companies, look into companies like Carolina Machine Engines who will offer warranties with their work and provide quick turn-around times. I saved $1,500 in comparison to the 'cheapest' local engine builder when I had my longblock rebuilt by CME.

Thanks for the feedback. It would be nice to find a local option to not deal with shipping freight and track the progress in-person.

There's a guy in Holiday named Charlie that posts on CL. Don't know anything about his work but you could check him out.

I'm in Tampa and looking as we'll, please post what you find out,

Pick up a copy of Mopar Muscle, and see who they use.

I've seen a shop in Auburndale (about 45 min from Tampa) used several times.

I can't recall the name, though.

If you didn't know, Mopar Muscle is published out of Lakeland.

I got some friends in Lakeland that do good on old stuff as well...

Ok, that at least gives me a place to start. I'm looking for a trustworthy shop to go over the internals and replace as necessary. Probably have them paint it correctly afterwards and then I'll finish up the accessories, carb, and install in vehicle. I'll update this thread as things hopefully progress. Thanks again!

I suggest searching for the local Mopar clubs in the area and ask them..........they would know
