Has anyone tried to put the baffle back on a Mopar Performance valve cover and broke the screw before it was even tight? Picked mine up from Cuda Chick today and they look fantastic. Went to put the baffle in under the PCV valve and broke a screw, they are all tight going in and will not tighten down on the plate.

Has anyone used a self cutting screw on these with success? I am at a loss what to do as the screws are very very small and hard to use.

I would drill and tap for a bigger screw, maybe 8/32 or so.

Yeah, tap it and then Loc-tite the screw in place. I got a rash of China made wood screws for a project that were breaking left and right. Pisses me off!! Damn Chinese made ****....

China?
You drive a Dodge. LoL!!
Wood screws....for a project made of wood....:sleepy2: but yeah, I have 3 Dodges and 2 Plymouths but there's nothing wooden in or on them :D

Greg, any updates on this since we talked the other day??

drilled and tapped the remaining two. left the one that broke. Valve covers are on and look great! I received lots of compliments from the shop. They are Chevy drag car guys but I hope get some business out of it. They were really impressed with the color match and I was too! Thanks!

Well I have some easy-outs if you get back into the area with the car sometime -- I'll fix it up in a couple minutes and get you back on the road. Loctite on the others should be fine.

It's not often I have the opportunity to actually meet a customer but I'm truly honored one was you. Having an internet based business, it seems I always miss out on that "Christmas morning look" so it was a special occasion for me. Having a hand in that ride is a privilege and I hope to work with you again in the future. Be sure to post up some pics when you get the chance!

you know, now we need pitcher/photo of said valve covers now... great job CudaChick1968, another satisfied customer :headbang:

I will be by the shop tomorrow and will snap one or two when I drop off the copper gaskets and mini starter. You know even though Cuda Chick and I only live about 1 hour apart I would have never found her had I not joined this site. Thanks to ALL!
