Hey guys, I’m looking for another project car. I have been looking for some time but can’t seem to find one that suits me, or they will not ship, or can’t get deal done. So I thought I’d post on here to see if I can get some help, or if someone is thinking about selling and doesn’t want to deal with eBay or craigslist. If it’s not meant to be then oh well. The CJ7 will get restored.
I currently have a 69 charger, the one in my avatar pic. The reason for another is that someday I would like to have one to build with my kids, and I would rather buy it now than try later when prices are higher. After all my kid is 3 months old, and the other ones aren’t even born yet. So it would probably sit and collect parts till they are of age to help.
So the budget, I am giving myself 10K to find a car, if i have to go up a little for the right one I'll have to re-evaluate. I recently sold some property I bought years back and busted my butt to clean it off and make it look good to make a profit.
What car? Well, I’d like to have another 2nd gen charger, but it’s not a must because I already have one, plus the price. So here are the others id like: 68-74 B-Body, roadrunner, gtx, satellite, Coronet, super bee. I’d prefer 68-70 b body, but will venture out to later years. Also, 70-74 challenger or cuda.
So the condition, well i am not a body man so I am trying to find the most solid car for my money. I do have a Hobart 190 mig welder but have not tried body work before. And I’m not that good at welding yet. So minimal to no rust is plus, but if it is a good car, I might pay to have rust work done. It doesn’t need to run; hell it doesn’t need a motor or tranny. It doesn’t need to be matching numbers either. Or have a fender tag or build sheet, id like for it to have a title but it’s not a deal breaker. For example, if someone has a rust free 70 satellite with not motor, I’ll take it and make it my own. Or a base model 68 coronet with a small block. It doesn’t have to be an R/T. it doesn’t matter to me. Just 2 door only. lol
I just don’t want someone with a shell think ill pay 10k for just that, a shell with nothing else. I’m not that desperate. Like i said, if it is not meant to be then that’s OK.
I hope I included all the info to help me find a car. Oh the location. I’m in victoria, Texas. South of Houston. So shipping will affect my purchase price. If it cost 1k to ship, then I’m only 9k into car. But it it’s within a day’s drive, id drive to get it.
Hopefully I have all the info down. Just PM me or email me [email protected] I will respond as soon as I can with holidays coming.
If I can’t find one by end of year, I might call it off and maybe my kids will enjoy restoring the jeep. I’m not looking to sell the car later down the road to make a profit so I will spend a little extra now to secure the right car.
I do have stuff I can trade to maybe lower the price of the car: 69 bumper jack in OEM condition Dated nov of 68, OEM spare tire 14” rim with tire that was used so its worn, Wood grain wheel in good condition with center black horn button. I can provide pics of these if needed.
