Mopar reproduction battery

Any suggestions on the best place to buy a Mopar reproduction battery for 69 Roadrunner? Or places to stay away from as well... Thanks

Thanks pops, I will look into them, I'm sure the free shipping will save me some dough… One more question, I see some sites say group 24 yellow caps for 69 383 cars and some say group 27 red caps…..can anyone enlighten me to what is correct? My tray is large enough for a group 27…the car currently has a small battery with the yellow topper…my battery is shot, so I figured I'd replace it with a repro.

Was the red cap group 27 an option? and if so would that be coded on a fender tag, and or window sticker? I see the red caps group 27 is a few bucks more but seems to have more cold cranking amps

cliff.....my 67 GTX is group 27..... I have seen both yellow or red tops for 69...... check out this site for imformation photo’s of engine compartments......

Pops, I ended up taking your advice, seemed like Summit is the best deal because of the free shipping, I even ordered through their ebay listing of it. I researched a little bit, and it appears the yellow cap group 24 is standard for 383 69 Roadrunner, but code F25 was an option for the group 27 red cap, higher cranking amp battery, so I'm going with that one….with the hopes of a little more of a powerful battery. Thanks again.

I have the yellow cap group 24 battery topper if anyone is interested….I think they go for about $59 plus shipping new… The one I have is in excellent condition and I would sell it for half that. If anyone needs it just send me a PM. Thanks

Ok, so I had two requests so far, one from TekHouse in Finland and one from Cletus in Sweden…I will check this week what it costs and let both you guys know. I think Tekhouse's response was about an hour before Cletus, don't want to get anyone mad at me, so to be fair, I'll put it out there and give Tek first crack and then Cletus second….that's if the shipping is even reasonable for either of you…I won't be marking that up, only whatever the post office charges me.

I got one years ago from Pennsylvania. Red cap. Looked good and worked good for 5 years. It started corroding and got out of control. Had to go back to modern look batteries to save the engine compartment.

What I would like to see is a fake hollow battery, just a box with the right look, proper looking caps on lid... drop a modern battery inside, connect the terminals and wham - there's your authentic-looking engine bay. Strange none of the topper makers aren't offering that kind of solution...

Fully charge the battery then drain the acid so it is dry to be shipped
and they can refill with acid when they receive it
as most carriers will not take dangerous goods
