What's the scoop? I saw a set of new castings for sale but have exactly zero experience with them. Junk? Good? The guy says they have hard seats but I don't see the blue ring around the exhaust seat - meaning evidence of heat treating. They look like a production late model head to me but the cross section of the port near the push rod looks much improved over the 906 or 915. The price is $600.00 / pr.

From my 94 Mopar Performance catalog:

P4529992 Stage V Head - Standard Valve (service replacement) 2.08"/1.74"
P4529993 Stage V Head - Big Valve (performance) 2.14"/1.81"

They had high-flow ports, operational heat crossover passage, and hardended ex valve seats. They cost $700 ea. in 94.

There was a ported version with number P4529112

i'm using a set on my 65 coronet 440+6. a lot of misinformation about them so be careful about what you hear. they are a little pricey to set-up but are superior to other iron heads. the ones i have do have an unleaded seat insert rather than induction hardening. dwayne porter of porter racing heads did mine and mine flow a little better than ootb edelbrocks. core shift can be a problem. if you can get them for around $500 and do some work yourself i'd jump on it. in the moparts archives there is some info on the heads and those heads are mine; unfortunately you'll have to sift thru some of the moparts b.s. comments.

hey dont you have a great set already?or are you looking for nss heads?i think i can get a set of indy sr's

I have them on my 70 Hemi.

I do, but I saw these iron heads and thought they may be a good deal for a street motor. Mainly something different. So what's with these indy sr's?

It took me a bit but then I realized there are also stage V hemi heads. And this info may come in handy as well!

not trying to hi-jack this thread, but thought it would be better then starting a new one... Does anyone know if the stage v hemi to 440 block heads are still available?
