-This is a Dragrace event where you will climb the ladder to be the fastest of 3 classes, Class rules are below. These rules are intended to create a competative enviroment for regular high performance street cars. In short the lowest class if for N/A cars that dont have all the advantages of a drag car like a power adders, transbrake, 4 link, and monster tires.... We want you to have traction problems in this class if you bring monster power, but you have to do it with an engine that could have been put in your car the decade your car rolled off the assembly line, and it can't be a raceblock.... For Raceblocks, boost, and nitrous you will have to move up to the next class where rules get alittle more relaxed.... as for the last of the 3 classes it is designed for folks that have rather serious race cars; so long as they retain the factory frame and doors.... Questions, I hope you will find the answers below. Mind you, this is the internet and I know some may or may not agree with all or some of the rules.... Cool, but don't expect me to change anything or argue my point. This is all for the fun and enjoyment of these old cars, always good turnouts, lots of bench racing in the pits, tons of roadside help if your car has trouble during the 40+ mile backroad cruise leaving and returning to Jakes Dragstrip. If you seen the (MotorTrends House of Muscle ep:8 Ratty Muscle Cars), then you have an idea of the shindig we put on called the #NoShineShitList. This is a Mopar event.... with a twist. Going to have some hand picked competition for you to fight through in addition to the Dodges and Plymouths! Hope some of you make the trip, we usually have between 6-8 states represented at our races. If you are coming.... Where are you coming from?

Super Bee at Jakes.JPG

Got my Super Bee ready for race day, my brothers Coronet R/T is coming along! Lots of B-Bodies are making it down should be a blast. Meet 10am at the track. We will leave for the 35ish mile cruise around 11.

I have 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials on my 70 Roadrunner, just because I wanted to see how much width I could get on what was my new 9" x 17" Year One aluminum Rallye wheels. I guessed, and they fit like the factory should have offered them. Other than that, cam, headers, and a FBO ignition system.
Looks like have to run in your fastest class or change tires. That's kinda weird.
I like what you're doing though...

I hope you bring it out! It should be a good crowd!

Nice. Looks like fun.
I'm going to say 2 things.
My 70 Roadrunner is close to stock (cam, headers), but I took a guess as to what the widest drag radials I could fit on the new 9x17 rear Year One aluminum Rallye wheels would be and fitted 315/35/17s on them. Totally stock suspension and wheelwells. They fit like they should have built them that way new. According to your rules, I would have to step down to a 295.
The other thing is that Cruisin the Coast is always around the first week of October. It draws a LOT of muscle cars from the South. Over 7,500 REGISTERED cars the last 2 years. That pulls cars away from your event, so maybe you can push the race back to the 3rd weekend.

You would have to step back to a 295 unless you wanted to run in the fastest class “Bandit Street”. Yea a lot of people head down to Gulfport that weekend, but I don’t think a dragrace event and a car show 355miles apart are in direct competition. If someone chooses that over my race more power to them, because if 1000+ cars show up to race with us I’ll probably only get to make 2 passes all day... I’m uninterested in that!
