Mopars at the Rock

All Mopar show, swap and race this coming Saturday the 16th at the Rockingham Dragway in NC. Any members planning to attend we should try to hook up. If you plan to be there PM me and lets exchange cell phone numbers. I am going to try and get there early Saturday to get a spot at the rear of the show area, up against the grass so I can pitch a canopy tent. If you are bringing your car for the show we should try to set up in the same area? Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Update on the event! The weather is looking to be pretty crappy for the event tomorrow. If it gets rained out any it will move til Sunday. Check out the rockinghamdragway.com webite for updates and details.

Yup, afraid so. The good thing is they will hold the event on Sunday if it gets rained out. I hope that Steve just pulls the plugs "soon" and reschedules it for Sunday. If people come tomorrow morning and have to go home two hours later they not only won't be happy but they will probably not come back Sunday. He's better off just to cancel it now.

weather isnt looking very good tomorrow i think it will be a wash out but they better poost it pretty quick. Its 7:30pm now and it hasnt been canceled yet till sunday??????????????

I don't know what he's doing. It's 9pm and still no cancellation notice. With the forecast they way it is there isn't going to be anyone there tomorrow and those that do show up are going to get pissed off to find out it is cancelled ........

Who went to Rockingham today?

Who went to MOPARS at the Rock today, Saturday? Did the "show go on" or was it canceled? Inquiring MOPAR minded folks want to know. Weather for Sunday looks beautiful!

I wish i knew what the story was. I took a drive to the track around 11:30 this morning just to check. There were zero show cars, a couple of brave swap meet vendors and a handfull of racers - mostly still on trailers. They were "open for business" at that time - charging full admission, and no indications of cancelling. Of course the day went back and forth on weather. I have checked the web site several times and emailed Steve to see if they are moving it to Sunday but have no info at this time.
At this point I am going in to bed and not even considering going tomorrow if they do move it. I'm actually kind of pissed that they didn't just cancel it and reschedule for tomorrow - and announce it on the web site. Given the forecasts and the weather there was no reason to drag people along today. The folks from out of town must really be PO'd.

Thanks for the report. Today (Sunday) there is something scheduled at the Rock, Phantasm Motorsports or such. Maybe they couldn't hold both events today,so they had to continue rain or shine on Saturday.

They did post on the site Friday that the event would be continued in its entirety on Sun if it was rained out. I'm suspecting that applied only to the racing portion. Nothing is currently posted (Sun 8:30am) on the website. Yesterday probably would have been a good day to pick up a trophy or two - no competition
There is plenty of room inside the gates to hold both events today but it would be a strange mixture of old Mopars and modern day tuners and lowriders..
Oh, well, I guess we just wait for the Farmington event in three weeks now.
