The enclosed clip shows two Mopars, a 408 c.i. Dakota and my 451 c.i. ´66 Charger competing in a street car class at an inauguration race in Akureyri Iceland. The new track is and 1/8 and owned and operated by The Auto Club of Akureyri of which I have been a member since 1975. We had been working on getting land for this track and building the facilities needed for 43 years Money and politics slowed our plans, but nevertheless we are proud of having the track built mainly via volunteer work of past and present club members. many of whom did not live to see this day.

Thanks for the video Ragnar. It's good to see drag racing in other parts of the world!

Congratulations Ragnar. That is quite an accomplishment. By the way, I love your Charger!

Very cool & congrats...

car red 66 Charger (?) looked great going down too

Awesome to get a track built and running.
I love your 66.
What kind of times were you running?

Thanks for kind and uplifting words Moparians! My class is strictly for true radial tires (i.e. none soft compound). On these BFG tires I have done 11.75 in the quarter-mile and 7.63 on 1/8th. The engine is a very mild 451 stroker with a 4.10:1 SG, 10.69:1 CR, a .582" and255 deg cam and a 2800rpm stall converter.

Very Nice!
I am going to get a 66/67 one of these days.
You just need a Milner Racing T-shirt. (I just had to get in a More American Graffiti reference.)

Awesome job! Glad to hear you made it work! Nice Charger too !

Congrats on one of the most difficult adventures and facilities to create from thin air. We here in NY's Long Island have been fighting for such a facility for years.
