2 mopars in the NHRA final round at Firebird today "rookie" Vincent Nobile beat Allen Johnson on a hole shot win {don't remember the #'s}with an Allen Johnson built motor, both Avenger bodied cars, what a bummer getting beat by your own customer & engine, the track was greasy/slick all week end, hot 130* track temps, no one really ran any impressive #'s

That was great to see the 2 Mopars in the final. AJ went 6.65 with an .034 lite I believe and VN went 6.67 with a .009 I think. Ron

vincent is a very good racer. great r/t times.
the barometric pressure was 29.10 there. terrible air.
it was 29.15 at island yesterday with 63 degrees, and a crosswind, numbers weren't great at all.

Yes the air was crap but the ambient temp 85-95* & especially the track temp was really bad, 130* or something like that & Firebird is at/or some were between 2000-4000ft altitude or more, depending on the relative air density & the water grains were also really low... The comb of dry hot air, slick hot track & altitude was kind of bad for the Pros especially the Top Fuel & Funny car guys, everyone including the Pro Stock guys were off there game & backing out all the clutch, to just get down the track...
