I was looking through some old pics and found these...

This is me getting into my 1976 Ford Starsky & Hutch package Gran Torino, circa 1984

This is a pic of my roommate's Superbird during our first road trip to Daytona Beach in 1982.

Who knew Superbirds could tow? This was taken the night my roommate was officially discharged from the Navy in 1983. He towed that 1971 Satellite Sebring Plus all the way from NAS Jacksonville, FL to Alabama. You can't see it, but "JUST DIVORICED" was written on the rear window of the Satellite. Less than a year later he had re-enlisted and just retired last year as a commander, so his divorice from the Navy didn't last long. :)

Nice pictures. It would've been better if you had a photo of you sliding across the hood of your S&H hood.

Starsky & Hutch

Great pics, I saw one of those Starsky & Hutch replicas at last years local car show.

Yeah, I miss that Gran Torino and wish I had another one. I bought a 1974 Gran Torino back in 2003 and brought it most of the way back to being a S&H clone, but then a guy from England saw it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I sold it. Always figured I would get another 76 one of these days.

And I never slid across the hood, but one time I was down at Daytona Beach and picked up a couple of gals who were riding on the hood as I cruised up the beach. A Valusia County Beach Patrol Deputy stopped me and informed me that was illegal. I told him we're doing 5 MPH on a beach, and he informed me the beach is classified as a highway and if I wouldn't drive with girls on my hood down the highway, I couldn't do it on the beach. Fortunately I still had my PA license, so he allowed me to plead ignorance and just get a warning. :)

Bruzilla Cool old rides, I had a 72 Gran Torino a dark Metalic Green, w/black bucket seat interior, 400 4v 4 speed 9" rear, w/white reflective accent strip down the side, cool old fun car... I actually considered painting it Red/white with the Starsky & Hutch paint sceme... But, I never did thou...

We had a guy in HS who drove a Striped Tomato, too. That was around 1979. Pretty cool.

You made the right decision. There is a guy in the Clay County Cruisers club down here who painted up a 73 (same body as the 72) to look like a Starsky & Hutch replica car. The paint job looks great, but the body is not the same as the 74-76 cars and it just doesn't look right.

Thanks, That's kind of what I was thinking too, I also didn't want to be just like all the other Gran Torinos around the area... I do like green allot better also...
