Nope, but I did check a few pump / housing combos and found them to be pretty close. I say someone missed when pressing the impeller. Compare this pump to a known working one and then adjust in a press.

I was not sure if I could press it on a little further:eusa_think:
I will take a closer look and see,did order a new pump today.

Yeah, it needs to be close to work, and you don't need another pump really to measure-it's already done that for you. Just press it a fraction further. Looks like a lot of rust and scale there also-especially for a new pump-run that antifreeze mix at 50/50 and that won't happen.

Wow thats odd! But i guess its just like any other new part for a 50yr old car.
If theres no positive stop to make sure the impeller is at the correct depth its up to the guy workin the press!
Guess he stayed too late at the bar last night Haha.

I did in fact press the impellers off a little further and reassemled. When pouring the A/F back in the rad,it starting leaking out the pee-pee hole.will install NEW pump today, supposed to be the latest superceded part :toothy5:

We'll see

did you use a gasket when you assembled it or just rtv.sometimes that is the difference in clearance.double stack the gasket for more space.use rtv between gaskets to prevent leak.
