MSD 6AL and Calssic industries tachometer

Ordered a classic industries replacement tach for my 70 Charger. Says it will work with MSD ignition. On the same page they sell an msd adapter box to make factory tach work. Do I need the adapter box to make this tach work?

Thats a crap shoot. I just went through that and in the end needed the adapter. I was told they have VDO internals and should not need the adapter. In the end I had to use it. Maybe the newer ones have changed. You sure would think they would trigger off the msd signal.

I connected mine directly to the MSD output and it works fine.

I also connected mine direct from the tach output of the msd 6al box

I was on hold today for 30 minutes for customer support and finally gave up. They need better on hold music too, lol.

Hey I was on hold today too, about 20 minutes.
Girl said 4 dash pads in stock the other day, guy said no dash pads in stock today when I tried to buy, been backordered for awhile.
I don't get it.
Frustrated.
