Well, I just got notification that my father and brother were ordered to evacuate their home. A 0% contained wildfire burning on 46,000 acres is only a couple miles from their house. At that location are the following vehicles

1970 Dodge Challenger
1973 Plymouth Satellite
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 T-tops car
1981 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta
1973 Plymouth Roadrunner 340 car
1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue

and a variety of other less important cars and trucks

If you do google satellite image on 54 Cinnamon Lane, San Angelo, Tx and zoom in you can see the tops of the cars in the back yard. Two camaros are red/black and white on bottom right of back yard. The challenger is in top left corner of picture. The roadrunner is just above the two boats on the left side of the picture.

They have both evacuated safely but were not given any time by law enforcement to get any of the vehicles.

Im keeping my fingers crossed that the fire misses the house!

Im sorry to hear it man... You tell them, there in our thoughts and Prayers for sure.. one wind change can send it in another direction. HOPE it happens!!!! Hope the law on there toes for the miserable thieves and vandals that think this is some kind of fun game. Ron

We lost the challenger a boat and a 89 dakota but everything else survived. Fire came within 50 feet of the house but through the courageous efforts of the firefighters they didnt lose any homes. They were determined not to lose a single house. Basically the three vehicles at the back of the property

My hat is off to all men and women who serve as firefighters and emergency rescue, they did a wonderful job.

+ 1 74, Could have been much worse. Glad all wasn't lost!!! Sounds like they really did great.

Figures that the ONE car you wouldn't want to lose you lose.

Its not too bad, it was a 318 car and really only good enough for parts. It had some serious issues. So, althought it sucks to lose a 1970 Challenger, im not to tore up about it. If I had to pick one of the mopar there to lose, based on condition it would have been that one.

Glad to hear no one was hurt and that more things were not destroyed, especially your house!. Makes me wonder hgow many classics are lost to natural disasters every year.
