Hello all,

I bought a new to me 1968 Charger back May of last year. It's a 383 2BBL Car originally. My whole intent was to drive it and slowly work on it but just have a fun weekend cruiser. That lasted for about 2 months. The seller I bought it from was very shady and not very upfront with the car. We talked back and forth for a week, and I decided to buy the car and have it transport to me from WI to Texas.

Anyways about 2-3 weeks into ownership I noticed several things wrong with the car, the wiring was done by a 8 year old with his eyes closed wrong master cylinder as it was converted to disc brakes, pads where on backwards on one wheel and super low oil pressure. I knew from here its time to tear it down and make it right. Luckily for me I happened to know a few amazing people at Painless wiring harness and agreed to be the test mule for them and got a complete new wiring harness from headlight to taillight all for free. Such an amazing group of women and men there and did an excellent job.

Once I got the car back I figured it was time to tear the engine apart and start to rebuild it. I figured if im going into it, why go back to stock? So motor came out. The motor work was done by the amazing guys over at G2 Garage in White Settlement TX (DFW Area) If you live in the DFW area I cannot recommend them enough. Great guys that know their stuff. The did an amazing job with the car and made new friends in the process.

Around the same time the engine was being built, I figured id clear coat the car to save the "patina" have to get some new wheels. On top of that, I wanted it to handle a little better so went with the summit front sway bar (think hellwig makes it) and Hotchkis rear sway bar, QAI single adjustable shocks and QA1 tie rod sleeves. I also replaced almost every ball joint on the car. I have since ordered the QA1 strut rods as well, just waiting for those to come in.

Well there’s 3 members that live not far from you, 2 in Weatherford and I’m 1 of them and 1 in Mjneral Wells.

Finally getting it aligned, to make it drivable again. Just a little positive caster and -1.1 camber.

Your picture helps verify the shop is doing it correctly. Targets on the rear wheels. The Thrust Angle numbers will let you know if you have minor[ easy fix] or major issues[ bent/damaged components] to deal with.

Yea these guys typically only do actual race cars (IMSA)but they also do regular cars or "specialty" cars. If anyone is in Fort Worth TX i highly recommend Texas Track Works.

Howdy neighbor. I was just looking at your profile and seen you are doing a hemi swap. I really thought about doing a gen3 Hemi swap and throwing this 383 in my 84 D100.

I did that a long time ago and sold it to a guy in Michigan.

I am right in the middle of a complete rotisserie restoration on my RR. Small block/727 to 440/505 Stroker, TKX 6 spd with full QA1 suspension. One of the last things I need to work out is wheels and tires. I really like your ride height and stance!! What wheels and tire size, front and back did you go with?
