My first car, then and now

Very cool, and it looks like it's in real great shape too.

Oh I garuntee that he feels some attachment to the car. I am done selling, as I never wanted to be that guy at a car show when he is 60 thinking about it.

When I thought of selling the car in 1974, I came very close to keeping it and putting it away until my retirement. I wish I would have.

I like seeing those Keystone Klassics on there back in the day. I was thinking I might get a set for my 74.

Cool story, and great looking car. Must have been an awesome feeling to get one of those brand new.

They look good but I had a lot of problems trying to balance them back in the day.

I was 18 and was used to driving my dad's 289 Ford. When I took one out for a test drive, the salesman said "Floor it". With the F70 14 Polyglass, the rear end went one way, the front went the other and the salesman turned white. LOL.

We went back to the dealership and I ordered one in Q5. Options were automatic, radio and posi. When I picked it up, it was raining so I had to be good. But the first dry day I got, I went looking for blood - and found it. LOL.

The first thing I did to it was put in a shift kit, 3:91 gears and 15 inch Prowlers. WOW!! Like day and night. Those were the days.

I like this shot.

Out of curiosity, do you have the original window sales sheet? What did it cost you when brand new?

From time to time a story like this pops up and I am truly amazed. How in the world are you able to track your cars down after all these years?

Nice GTX by the way! I had an Alpine White 69 that I tore up Woodward Avenue with in the 70's. :headbang:

Great story. Amazing you tracked it down. Even more amazing is it made it all those years and was able to be tracked down at all.
