My kid needs a daily driver goin to look at this

Looks good! Stripe, wheels, hood, seats, trans, engine... one "custom" thing leads to another. :icon_mrgreen:

You got that right, he tends to get carried away, like his father.

Oh yea. I always have had my eye out for a 6 banger for less than 2. That ones cherry compared to what Ive seen go for more than 2. JMO though w/ a vinyl top I'd skip the stripes. And vinyl tops are back in style (on older cars of course.)

Rust city under that VT.

Ya saw those bubbles, gonna push on it to see if top is just seperated or if it's holes. Been over on fabo and see they make headers and other performance parts for these 225's. Nicest thing I've seen for under $2k Ya maybe right on the no stripe with the v/t.

I agree, skip the stripe.

IMO, they don't work with the later style bumper.

Kinda makes it look like you're trying too hard, especally on a /6 car.

Now a nice new set of cragar SS wheels, on the other hand...

stripes always look good, all the VTs I have bought here in Detroit look worse then they are, just watch lower quarters floors and center torsion bar support. here is my 74 swinger and questions, Pm me

I am finally doing a set of magnum 500 wheels for my swinger, the problem with craigs is they always want to rust

be the perfect car...good on gas now with slant 6 and down road u can always upgrade if u want

If you do put the stripe on it, please make sure you put the rear edge of the stripe parallel with the rear edge of the car. It looks really crappy when you don't

:iamwithstupid: Yep it's hard to stop, at just a stripe & wheels....LOL.... Nice starter car, easy to work on & learn the basics....

Well the dart is home. Very very solid car. The top looks like if had some bad patch work done before the v/t was put on. I hit the raised spots and they are solid no push thru couldn't break thru the metal on any of the spots. Yea I'm sure there's some rust there but it's solid. Drivers 1/4 had been replaced, lower patch on pass side rear. Little rust on pass wheel well, few bubbles lower door. Runs, drives, stops real good. Driving it you can't even hear it running. The vinyl under rear window is shot, has a little surface rust, gonna strip that part grind/smooth hit it with some por 15 prime it and spray it black. Po had it for 20 yrs he had it painted red. Was originally mustard/gold? Has fender tag gonna look for build sheet for haha's. He has 4 little kids now and they have scratched it up some, but hey it's gonna be my kids daily driver. Lots of scratches on the hood, flat area where the kids could drag stuff across it. If it won't buff out it may end up black. Tires seem small going to have to check what original size is supposed to be. Speedo reads faster than actual speed. I'd like to put 15" wheels on at least the rear. Now's the time for the kid to join fabo, hope he enjoys it over there as much as we do here. :headbang:

...and make sure it's an equal width.

I just roll my eyes when I see one that's narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.

I think I'd rather see Demon style horizontal stripes on this body style than a botched tail stripe.

Looks like a good car for him! You both will enjoy the cruising around together..
